Update: Forecast for Southern Africa Not as Dire

The current forecast for Angola, Namibia, and South Africa for the 12-month period ending January 2016 (below right) is not as dire as the forecast issued in early May (below left) for the same time period. However, the forecast still calls for exceptional deficits in South Africa, extreme deficits in Angola, and now calls for extreme to exceptional deficits in Southern Mozambique.

WSIM Composite Water Anomaly Index for Feb 2015 through Jan 2016

Many analyses reported in ISciences-authored blog posts are based on data generated by the ISciences Water Security Indicator Model (WSIM).
