Severe to exceptional water deficits are forecast throughout Saudi Arabia from May through July, increasing in extent from the prior three months, and in southern Iraq and west of the Euphrates. Deficits nearly as intense will emerge in United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Lebanon. Deficits of varying severity are forecast for Turkey, Lebanon, West Bank, Israel, Jordan, Yemen, Oman, and eastern Iran. Surpluses may persist in northeastern Iraq into northwestern Iran. The forecast for August through October shows a distribution pattern similar to May through July.

Severe to exceptional water deficits are forecast to emerge April through June in: Saudi Arabia, Iraq west of the Euphrates, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, eastern Oman into southern coastal Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, West Bank, Israel, and eastern Cypress. Deficits in Yemen are expected to downgrade but remain severe and widespread. Deficits of varying severity are expected to persist in some areas of Turkey, and moderate deficits are forecast for central Iran. Surpluses are forecast in southern Iran from the Persian Gulf east into Kerman Province.

The extent of exceptional water deficits in the region is expected to nearly disappear March through May, but moderate to severe deficits are forecast for the Arabian Peninsula and Turkey. Deficits are also forecast for Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Israel, southern Iraq, and coastal Georgia. Surpluses are forecast in Iran from the central Persian Gulf inland to the center of Kerman Province. From June through August the extent and severity of deficits will increase throughout much of the region, particularly on the Arabian Peninsula.
